Finding quality, healthy, family meals can be so hard. And that is why I’ve made it my mission here at The Dashley’s Kitchen to bring you a collection of the yummiest, the best, easy and delicious family friendly recipes I can.
A Simple Goal for Family Friendly Recipes
It use to bring me such anxiety to be asked to bring along a dish to a gathering or party. I would HATE stressing over if people would like my food, or eat it. I mean my idea of the ultimate walk of shame is leaving a dinner party with a dish full of the food I brought.
So, I started this little website and it’s been one of the best things I’ve done. Now I know there is a place I can go to pull tried and true recipes. Recipes that are not complicated but are sure to be a crowd pleaser every time. The end goal is to create and have a place where I can record my collection of meals, sides, and desserts. A place full of recipes that I enjoy myself and love feeding to my kids, family or friends when they visit.
My passion project has been many years in the making. Years of combing through, searching, and experimenting with my family’s ancient recipes. You know the ones that have been passed down on small, torn pieces of paper. It has taken everything in me to learn to decipher their cryptic and unhelpful phrases like, “add to taste” (whatever that means) or instructions to “Bake” but with no specified temperature or time. And my personal favorite the recipes that are just a list of ingredients with no instructions whatsover.
Again, I’m no culinary genius, and sadly my grandma and mom don’t live next door so they can help walk me through each meal I make. But it has been a beautiful journey of learning and adventure as I’ve worked to find the recipes that I lovingly like to refer to as, “my keepers”.
Best Easy and Delicious Family Friendly Recipes
I strongly believe you do not have to be a world class chef to make delicious meals.
This website began as a passion project for me. I love getting in the kitchen and trying new recipes and playing around with old ones. I’ll be the first to tell you I am learning as I go. So, come learn with us. Try new things. Don’t be afraid to get dirty.
We love that you are joining us on this journey. Thank you for letting me share with you all the best recipes wether from my Grandma’s old cookbooks, one of you, or a dish we create all on our own. And if you have an incredible recipe we need to know about we’d love to have you share it with us here.
Let me Introduce the Dashley’s Kitchen Taste Testing Staff
Without this crew, the journey would not be possible.
Also, just, so you can catch the vibe of my kitchen … these fellas have been here for every recipe. They may even be some of my most loyal and ambitious taste testers. You’ll see Luna and Dash offering their support and encouragement often. They are some of the Dashley’s Kitchen’s biggest fans!
And an extra big kudos to this guy. Without Dallin this passion project would never have been possible. He is my best sous chef. The oh so talented food photographer and videographer who’s work you see on display in each recipe. My biggest cheerleader and most dependable and honest food taste tester.
Final Words of Wisdom
So, my advice to you aspiring chefs is simple. Get messy, have the best time cooking and baking, only make the things you love to eat, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes along the way. Food is food and it should be fun always.
