OLD-FASHIONED OATMEAL CAKE

Palm Tree

-- Marie W.

"Perfectly sweet, moist and delicious this cake is so, so good. May just be my new favorite!"

In a bowl combine oats, hot water and melted butter to soak for 20 minutes.

In a second bowl combine both sugars, vanilla and eggs.

With a hand mixer cream the sugars and eggs together.

Add the remaining ingredients to a third bowl.

Generously butter or grease an angel food cake pan and preheat oven to 350*.

Combine the ingredients from all 3 bowls together.

Gently stir everything and combine the batter in the bowl.

Transfer the batter into the pan and place in the oven to bake for 30 minutes.

Allow cake to cool and serve with fresh unsweetened whipped cream.
