Boil cubed potatoes until just soft enough to pierce with fork but still firm enough to hold shape. Drain off water and set aside to cool.
In a glass bowl combine sour cream, green onion, salt and cheese. Stir together.
Add cooled melted butter and cream of chicken soup and mix well.
Carefully fold in cooled potatoes to the mixture. Be sure not to over mix. Stir just till all the potatoes are coated.
Spoon mixture into a greased baking dish and top with prepared topping mixture. Place in oven to cook till bubbly. Serve hot!
