Boil cubed potatoes until just soft enough to pierce while still firm enough to hold shape. Drain water and set aside to cool.

In a glass bowl combine sour cream, green onion, salt and cheese. Stir together.

Add cooled melted butter and cream of chicken soup and mix well. 

Carefully fold in cooled potatoes to the mixture. Do not over mix. Stir till potatoes are coated.

Spoon mixture into a greased baking dish and top with prepared topping. Place in oven to cook till bubbly.
