Buttermilk Waffles

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup sour cream

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl combine flour, salt and baking powder.
    2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • In a second bowl combine buttermilk, oil, eggs, vanilla and sour cream. Mix till fully combined.
    2 cups buttermilk, ½ cup vegetable oil, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla, ½ cup sour cream
  • Pour your wet mixture into the bowl with dry ingredients.
  • Stir till combined, being careful not to overmix. It is okay if there are some lumps still in the batter.
  • After allowing batter to rest for 5-10 minutes, scoop batter onto a heated waffle iron and allow to cook until golden brown.
  • Serve with syrup and enjoy.

Notes

  • Do not over mix batter when stirring.
  • Allow batter to rest for 5 to 10 minutes before cooking.
  • To keep warm, place cooked waffles in an oven heated to 250° F. Place on a flat baking sheet in oven until ready to serve.
