Brown Sugar Syrup

A must-try for breakfast lovers, this thick, sweet syrup is perfect for drizzling over pancakes, waffles, and all your breakfast favorite dishes.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt optional

Instructions
 

  • In a pot over medium-high heat add the brown sugar, water and cinnamon.
  • Stir the mixture until the liquid comes to a rolling boil and all sugar is dissolved.
  • Lower the heat to medium and allow the syrup to continue boiling for another 4 minutes.
  • Add the butter to the mixture and continue to stir till butter is entirely melted.
  • Remove the mixture from the heat. Add vanilla and salt (optional) to the pot and stir to combine.
  • Let the syrup cool for 5 minutes before serving and enjoy. Store any remaining syrup in fridge.
