🥫 Ingredients
With just a handful of ingredients it's easy to make these adorable Chocolate Pretzel Wreaths.
- Pretzels
- White Chocolate
- Food Coloring
- Sprinkles or Candies
- Pull and Peel Licorice
🥣 Step-by-Step Instructions
Firstly, line a baking sheet with parchment paper to place all your Chocolate Pretzel Wreaths on. Then we need to pull the licorice apart into individual strands. Once separated go ahead and tie each strand into a bow and set aside.
Next add your chocolate wafers to a microwave safe bowl. Then using the microwave heat the chocolate in 30 second intervals, stirring in between until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
Then if wanting to use food coloring in your Chocolate Pretzel Wreaths go ahead and add that to the melted chocolate.
Afterwards dip a pretzel into the chocolate, coating only the bottom half of the pretzel. Then lay the pretzel on the prepared parchment paper.
Dip another pretzel following the same process and lay the pretzel down beside the first so the sides are touching and the dipped bottoms lay in the center of the circle being formed. Continue to dip and place pretzels until you have formed a complete circle or wreath.
You will want to repeat the process adding a second layer of pretzels on top of the first to finish making your wreath shape.
Then while the chocolate is still warm add sprinkles or candy toppings to decorate your Chocolate Pretzel Wreath. Adding your licorice bow to the wreath using a little melted chocolate.
Repeat all of these steps until each of the Chocolate Pretzel Wreaths have been assembled and decorated. Lastly, you will want to place your baking sheet in the fridge. Let the wreaths chill for 10 minutes so that the chocolate can set. Remove from fridge and enjoy!
👩🏻🍳 Make it Your Own
White Chocolate
Try using white chocolate chips instead of melting wafers if you prefer. Try adding a little oil to lightly coat each chip, this will help the chocolate to melt evenly while heating. Then all you need to do is microwave the chocolate in 10 second intervals, stirring well between until it is smooth.
Toppings
If you are not a fan of sprinkles you can absolutely use other types of toppings like raisins, dried cranberries, chocolate chips, chopped nuts, m&m candies, or crushed peppermint.
Flavors
For extra flavor try adding a few drops of your favorite extract like lemon, peppermint or almond extract to the melted chocolate.
🍽 Storing
Store any leftover Chocolate Pretzel Wreaths in an airtight container or individually wrapped. You can also freeze wreaths to preserve freshness of these treats.
